Experience Summary
For the past two years I have worked for Advanced Learners tutoring students in Math, Reading and Writing. My students ranged from 1st Grade to College Prep. Previously I tutored elementary to high school students at their homes and at the school site of Family of Faith Christian Academy in Winter Haven, Florida 2007-2008. I taught GED classes in both Polk and Broward Counties, Florida for a total of 8 years 2002-2004 and 1991-1997. I was a college Math and English instructor plus Coordinator of Remedial Studies at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, an Applied Arts College, from 1996-2002.
Teaching Style
I prefer individualized instruction whenever possible. In a classroom environment I insist on active class participation and recitation. As A GED facilitator I always had a very high graduation rate among my students. Many of my GED completers went on to college. I believe in persistence and that every student must understand the basics before moving on to more complex content.
My Hobbies
I enjoy golf and tennis, traveling and watching "action" movies.
