Experience Summary
I am interested in teaching high school Math or Physics. I have a double Masters degree in Physics and currently teach both high school Math and Physics. This is my fourth year as a Teacher, and licensed in both these subjects. I am comfortable in most levels in Mathematics, upto calculus-1. Teaching Style
My teaching philosophy has developed through my experiences as a high school physics teacher, as a teaching assistant in the Department of Physics at Texas Tech University, and through tutoring individual students. In my experience, high level of student participation is important. First, it allows students to at least start thinking towards a problem in their own way, and later start debating over what they have learned in the classroom. I try to encourage the class by carefully organizing my lectures. With a clear organization, students are more likely to believe they understand the framework of the class and therefore will be willing to ask questions about the sections they may not understand. A second technique which I believe provided usefulness is carefully planned homework assignments which lean more toward conceptual understanding than filling in numbers within a formula. I also believe high school studies lay the foundation of our future. The time students spend in high school is of crucial importance and I believe the stronger the foundation, the brighter their future.
