Experience Summary
My professional experience and educational experience have been intertwined for many years. As a laboratory technician, I not only learned how important accuracy and precision are when performing analyses, but I also learned how truly interesting science could be. That intrigue led me to supplementing my chemistry education with biological courses and changing my professional path to pharmaceutical research. Inherent in research, are aspects of imagination and novelty. Although oral and written communication skills are important in science, I am increasingly improving my communication skills as a substitute teacher and as a law school student.
Teaching Style
I love children and I love being able to share my love of learning with them. Children want to learn and there is nothing better than seeing a child’s face light up when they “get it.” Even though I have science degrees, I have never found my science or math courses to be particularly easy. Therefore, I can empathize with students who are finding difficulty in learning these and other subjects. I realize that everyone learns differently and I communicate with students so that I can understand what works best for them. Everybody can learn and students need educators who care about them and their education.
