Experience Summary
As a teacher and tutor to Housatonic Community College students for the past four years, I have helped a variety of students in the areas of Math and Science. The HCC student body is greatly varied in age and ability level. This variety of students has allowed me the experience to educate many different individuals with many different learning styles.
I have worked as a math and science tutor for the HCC Academic Support Center, I currently teach two non-credit math courses for HCC Continuing Education, and I also currently tutor in remedial math classes.
Aside from my teaching experience at HCC, I have tutored multiple high school and middle school students from many different parts of Fairfield County in the areas of math and science.
Teaching Style
Teaching is my passion. I have worked with students from 11 to 70 years old. No two people learn in the same way, and no two people can be taught in the same way. I customize each session to fit the needs of the tutee. I am patient, friendly, easy to understand, and can help relate the subject to real life.
My experience allows me to quickly see which aspects of the subject are difficult, how it can be made clearer, and the best way for each student to learn. I strive to ensure that each student I tutor leaves the session; having learned the material, having achieved their full potential, and feeling confident in the subject. I not only help each student learn, but help each student become stronger in their ability to work alone.
