Experience Summary
While in high school, I discovered my love for math and began tutoring classmates in that area. My interest in writing developed during my educational career at The University of Tulsa, where I had courses in advanced exposition and argumentation and writing for the professions along with literature classes in the areas of Russian and British Literature of the 18th Century, Eastern Literature, and Greek Literature. I also took courses in Spanish, including a composition course. I currently have contracts to publish 2 manuscripts in 2011, one being a compilation of poetry and the other being a research paper dealing with depression stemming from exercise withdrawal.
Teaching Style
I feel that we all have the aptitude to learn, yet each individual discovers that aptitude in a different manner. My first and most important goal is always to convey this to the student in an effort to let them know I believe in their abilities. The thing that allows a student to most effectively reach his or her possibilities is confidence. The future of any nation lies with the quality of the education received by its students, and this education is only as useful as the extent to which its possessors can communicate. That is what makes composition and English comprehension so vital. The brightest mind can be a prison of knowledge without the proper skills of communication.
