Experience Summary
I have three years of experience working with students with special needs in the classroom. I also have personal experience helping those with special needs. My younger sister has a server intellectual disability, which was the driving force motivating me to enter the field of education, more specifically, special education. Through my graduate studies, I have worked with a diverse group of students with special needs, ranging from students with learning disabilities to students with severe intellectual and adaptive impairments. I feel as if I am highly knowledgeable and skilled with students struggling to succeed. I can see the potential in them and I help them see the potential in themselves as well.
Teaching Style
I not only enjoy educating students, I have compassion for students who struggle to succeed. I have learned that every child is unique and all have different learning styles and perhaps, that is why they are struggling with learning some information. I am a strong believe in mulitple intelligences and I strive to help the student learn which is the best way for him or her to learn. I am not only an effective teacher because I give the student a different way of learning, but I also care about the students. I believe, before all learning begins, the student needs to know how much the teacher truly cares. I am a strong believer in the popular quote, "They don't care about how much you know, they care about how much you care."
